EYA Neighborhood News

Last month, EYA celebrated the opening of it's 50th new neighborhood in the greater DC area. Four of these new communities opened within the last year, and two more are coming soon in 2024. EYA's Senior Director of Marketing, Ananth Rao, recently shared his reflections on what it means to be a part of a community opening—how EYA team members come together with a sense of commitment and camaraderie, and how special it is to see future neighbors forging friendships as they camp out overnight to be among the first to buy a home in the new community. Hear what he had to say below.

On Friday, thousands of DMV residents celebrated Bike to Work Day by ditching their cars and opting for a greener, healthier commute. A number of our EYA team members are dedicated bike (or scooter!) commuters themselves and regularly take the trails to work. Below is a snapshot of some EYA folks living EYA's motto of life within walking distance (or biking or scootering), and why they choose these alternative commuting options.

This month’s Employee Spotlight is Adam Cetron. Adam has worked with many of our homeowners helping them find and purchase their new EYA home. He has been with EYA for over 17 years and recently was awarded The National’s Silver Award for “Sales Person of the Year” at the International Builder Show in Las Vegas.

In this month’s Employee Spotlight, we are pleased to feature EYA’s Senior Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development, Aakash Thakkar. A DC native, Aakash is passionate about creating great new communities that revitalize local neighborhoods and benefit the City’s residents. He has also been very involved in the EYA Foundation and is an active participant at many EYA volunteer events.

This month’s Employee Spotlight is Ann Paduda (now Ann Hulen as of recent), EYA's Design Consultant. For our homeowners, Ann needs no introduction. She has the important job of helping our homeowners select options for their new home. This includes everything from cabinets and faucets to hardwood and carpets. Not only an EYA employee for almost 18 years, Ann is also an EYA homeowner, and couldn’t be happier with her life within walking distance®.
