Leasing for The Lindley apartment building in Chevy Chase, MD begins in June
A construction topping out party was held yesterday for The Lindley, an 11-story luxury apartment building in Chevy Chase that is one of the first large-scale development projects linked to the Purple Line. More than 100 members of the construction, design and finance teams joined developer EYA and general contractor Donohoe Construction for the event.
Adjacent to the Purple Line’s Connecticut Ave. light rail station opening in 2022, The Lindley is the western anchor of a new 4.5-acre EYA neighborhood along Chevy Chase Lake Drive. The community, which includes The Brownstones at Chevy Lake, where EYA has sold 35 percent of 62 elevator townhomes, is the first meaningful supply of new housing in Chevy Chase, MD in decades.
Pre-leasing for The Lindley begins June 2018 and first move-ins are expected three months later in September. The building will include 200 apartments, underground parking and an adjoining half-acre park.
“We are excited to reach this milestone in the same week that the court has delivered a big win for the Purple Line, Montgomery County and the metro region,” said McLean Quinn, EYA Vice President of Land Acquisition. “EYA is committed to developing new communities that help reduce our buyers’ auto dependence. Residents of The Lindley will enjoy great commuter access, a host of new and existing dining and retail choices surrounding the building and access to the nearby Capital Crescent Trail for walking, running and cycling.”
According to Quinn, amenities will abound for residents of The Lindley. The rooftop area offers sweeping views of downtown Bethesda, Silver Spring and the Mormon Temple and will feature a bocce court, grilling station, lounge seating, fire pit, dog walk and green roof. Building amenities include a fitness center and stand-alone yoga studio, multiple lounges, entertainment venue and children’s play room.
The Lindley is steps from Starbucks, Einstein Brothers, Chevy Chase Lake Supermarket and destination dining at Tavira and Manoli Canoli. New retail shops and restaurants are planned next door, where The Chevy Chase Land Company anticipates breaking ground on a nearly 800,000-square-foot redevelopment in 2018.
For commuters, The Lindley’s location just off Connecticut Avenue offers easy access to the District, Beltway, Bethesda and Silver Spring. Ultimately, the Purple Line will allow residents to reach Bethesda Station and the Metro Red Line in one stop and will be just three stops from the Silver Spring Transit Center, which connects to the Red Line’s second branch.
